Notes on 7g Schedule Week of May 4th

1.      I hope everyone has a nice National Lemonade day holiday today. I will send the schedule via separate blog since it is currently not loading.

2.     Please be aware there will be no Friday zoom call with me this week after online mass. I am having a minor surgery that day. The dr. says I may be out for the first couple of days the following week, but I will try to come in. If I must stay home, I will conduct class over zoom with Ms. Cottura in the classroom.

3.    As you will see in this week's schedule, this will be our last STAR testing week. Math will be Tuesday afternoon and Reading will be Thursday morning.

4.   I had a question about confirmation fees.  In brief, the fee includes:

--- the fees paid to the retreat coordinator, his assistant and the materials they provided.

--- the fee to the Archdiocese who charges the school per student.

--- the fee to the presiding clergy members, in this case, Fr. Marvin, Deacon Abbie and Deacon Albear.

--- the printing fees for certificates.

--- the fee to rent the church for the ceremony.

Many school parents probably are unaware, but the parish and school are completely separate entities, and the parish doesn't do things for us for free. That is different at other schools, but the church and school became separate in 1993, when the parish was closed for a year or so. We pay them for every ceremony, except regular Friday mass.
